Study Visits

  • A deep understanding of local customs is the key

IMY provides solutions for professionals in terms of business, culture, logistics (including accommodation and transport). A specialist who speaks English, French and Spanish conducts the visits. CSCS can provide interpreters in Portuguese, Danish, Romanian, Hungarian and German if required. We can also provide external translators for other languages.

Participants are assisted throughout the visits, in order to combine the business experience with the discovery of local secret treasures, including cultural and culinary traditions. CSCS is convinced that a deep understanding of local customs is the key to transforming a trip abroad into an unforgettable cultural experience and professional and business success.

The standard contents and activities for an IMY Study Visit include: business contacts and meetings; meetings with stakeholders including policy makers, sector experts and professionals, companies. The programme may include cultural and tourist guided visits, excursions, meals in selected restaurants and other ad hoc activities that may be requested. All study visits can be enriched with special excursions, such as wine, cheese or olive oil tastings.

The Design of Study Visits

The design of the visit consists in identifying the needs of the participants and subsequently combining them with the resources, while making an extensive and viable work plan. The IMY Study Visit design process is realized through interacting directly with the client and with the stakeholders, anticipating effects of each meeting, interviewing the client, proposing solutions and revising them within a continuous quality management process.

The cost for the design depends on the number of stakeholders and the number of days included in the programme of the IMY Study Visit.

Scientific tutoring for IMY Study Visits

A senior professional with expertise in the study field, guides the visits acting as a cultural mediator. The role of the CSCS is to divide the group into selected environments. An ad hoc programme, interpreting the needs of the visitor, is agreed upon well before arrival. CSCS experts introduce the group to the area, to organisational and political issues, administrative rules, and so on. The science tutor supports local stakeholders to share the right information with the visitor and to create a framework of real perspectives from local life in terms of business, job markets, education, culture and lifestyle.

The science tutor accompanies the participants for the whole period, including restaurant visits and social events, helping the participants to understand for example the gastronomic traditions and the Italian people. CSCS cultural support is present not only in the business sector, but even in discussions on food, history and local habits.
